Please arrive 15 minutes early for your appointments to attend to the specifics of your visit.

REFERRALS

Some HMO’s are more restrictive than others, so if you have a question please call your insurance company directly. Make sure any specialist you prefer is in your referral network.

 

If your managed care plan requires approval or authorization for referrals to a specialist, radiological imaging facility, medical facility, etc., We require 3 business days notice to facilitate a referral request.

 

To place a referral please call our office at 978-948-3902 and follow the message on our answering service to our PHONE TREE. The following information is requested for Referrals: your name and date of birth, insurance type and subscriber number, name of doctor or facility you will be visiting, doctor’s specialty, and date of visit.

 

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS

New prescriptions require an appointment to best assess the correct medication for you. Prescriptions for acute care or chronic conditions are written with an appropriate number of refills to complete the course of treatment or to last until your next scheduled appointment. Therefore, refills should be discussed/ completed at regularly scheduled appointments. This is to assess the effect and assure the best and safest medication care possible. When you notice you have 7 to 10 days of pills remaining you need to call your pharmacy (not the office) and request that your medication be refilled. If there are no refills or the pharmacy has questions they will contact our office. All prescription requests are addressed only during regular office hours and filled within 5 business days. Please do not call the office or pharmacy inquiring about refills until 5 days has passed since your request was placed.

 

INSURANCE

We participate with many different insurance companies, each of which has its own rules and requirements. When you come in for your appointment, please have your insurance card ready and inform us of any changes in your coverage. Although we are always happy to assist you with insurance issues, it is important that you fully understand your policy and your responsibilities within it.
